West Yorkshire-based conservatory and double glazing company Conservatory Outlet has promoted two of its existing employees following impressive growth over the past 18 months.

Ryan Bower, 28, has earned himself the responsibility of becoming Customer Service Manager, and Ben Wilson, 25, assumes the role of Marketing Manager after nearly two years with the window, door and orangery manufacturer which serves an ever growing network of installers across the UK.

The directors of Conservatory Outlet; Managing Director Matthew Glover, Sales Director Greg Kane and Operations Director Michael Giscombe have assembled a young but experienced team at their headquarters in Wakefield, many of whom are university graduates.

Although fulfilling very different roles, Ryan Bower and Ben Wilson have become integral members of the office team, as indeed every member of staff is, and both are delighted to have had their efforts rewarded.

The rising cost of energy has becoming a growing issue in the UK over the past couple of years, with millions finding themselves in fuel poverty. To highlight homeowners concerns, a protest march has been held in Birchington, Kent, aiming to put pressure on local MPs to lobby the major companies e.g. British Gas, E.ON, Npower etc.

The march was organised and led by Independent Councillor, John Warrow, who says:

“The thing to do is put pressure on our MPs.

“A number of people seem to think that the politicians just aren’t listening to them, so we thought we’d get out onto the street.

“We’ve had overwhelming support, I’ve knocked on about three quarters of the doors in Birchington personally and everyone feels the same way.”

Mr Warrow’s comments are sure to be echoed by millions of homeowners, not just in the Kent area, but across the UK, as more and more people are faced with the choice of getting themselves into serious debt or going without essential heat and light.

Research carried out by insurers Aviva has shown that people living in the UK believe that they need an extra £400 per month in order to feel financially secure; this works out at a pre-tax income of £7,236 per year.

It is no surprise to see that those aged between 25 and 34 have the biggest gap in income between what they earn and what they need to be able to live comfortably, needing a substantial £627 extra  month to survive.

Business Development Director at Aviva, Simon Warsop, says: “Even those who have the highest income feel they need the greatest increase to feel comfortable.”

It has become increasingly difficult for homeowners to put money to one side each and every month as the cost of living continues to rise.

Energy bills, water bills, petrol prices and food and clothing costs have all gone up in recent times, leaving millions on the brink financially. This growing trend in price rises is set to continue well into the future and a stage has been reached…

Make Life Difficult For Thieves With UPVC Doors

Buying a home is one of the largest investments you will ever make; it therefore makes sense to protect that investment as much as possible. However, a series of homeowners in Caversham in Reading are failing to heed this advice as the number of burglaries carried out in the area within the past month have almost tripled according to The Reading Post.

Police in the area have suggested that the majority of these burglaries have occurred due to the failure of homeowners to ‘double lock’ their UPVC doors. By only part locking a UPVC door, homes have been left wide open to thieves as they only require an implement to prize them open.

Items stolen include electrical items like laptops and phones, cash, handbags, tools, jewellery and bikes. Property owners have also been advised to assess their home to check for flaws and possible points of entry for burglars to prevent instances such as this happening in the future.

UK Homeowners Continue To Stay Loyal To Energy Supplier

Ever since the cost of household fuel reached an unprecedented level in the last couple of years, we have all been encouraged to try and seek out the cheapest possible energy tariff. Switching suppliers can pay off financially in the long-term but thousands of people are failing to take heed of this advice and are losing out on hundreds of pounds worth of money.

This is according to the Department of Energy and Climate Change who say that the total amount of people switching gas or electricity suppliers is as low as it has been since 2003. This means that there are undoubtedly huge numbers of people paying far too much for their energy bills than they should be doing which in the present financial climate is far from ideal.

Shopping around for the cheapest available energy tariff is simple. There are numerous comparison sites online where you can input your current gas and electricity usage along with a few other details and get the best possible deals. You should also contact your current supplier…
